The XXXI Research Cluster Meeting on Energy Management and Technology took place on Feb 28, featuring two interesting talks.
In the first talk, Prof. David Finger from the Sustainability Institute and Forum at Reykjavik University captivated the audience with his presentation titled “Climate-Neutral Europe: the Role of Renewable Energies in the Arctic to decarbonize Europe and enhance energy independence.” His inspiring talk provided a glimpse into the possibilities of an Austrian-Icelandic Energy Cooperation and highlighted the crucial role that renewable energies in the Arctic can play in achieving climate neutrality.
In the second talk, Norbert Wohlgemuth addressed the topic of “Renewable Energy and Sustainability Co-Impacts.” Both presentations provided valuable insights into the future of renewable energy and its implications for climate neutrality and energy independence in Europe. Students and researchers alike were amazed by the perspectives shared, leaving the room with interesting insights into the role of renewable energy in the Arctic. It was a fantastic opportunity to learn more about the progress of climate neutrality and energy independence in Europe, and we look forward to further collaborations with Prof. Finger and Mr. Wohlgemuth in the future.
