The minimum gross annual salary amounts to \u20ac 30.077,- and\ncan increase depending on previous professional experience. Expected starting\ndate is <strong>1<sup>st<\/sup> October, 2019<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The graduate\nschool \u201cDecision-making in a digital environment\u201d (DECIDE) is dedicated to interconnecting\nthe ongoing digitalization and its effect on (human) decision-making. The\ndistinctive feature of this graduate school is its interdisciplinary nature:\nThe involved faculty members have a strong background in either social sciences\nand economics, computer science, engineering or psychology, perform research in\ntheir dedicated fields, and foster interdisciplinarity. The research projects\nto be carried out in the context of this graduate school address the current challenges\nof digitalization and decision-making from multiple perspectives, thereby\nexploiting the interdisciplinary setting of the graduate school. The faculty\nwill encourage and strongly support successful candidates in their\ninterdisciplinary research, in presenting their research at scientific\nconferences, as well as in publishing their work in international top journals\nand conference proceedings. The graduate school has a highly dynamic, familiar,\nand friendly attitude and thus provides a collaborative and very inspiring work\nenvironment with modern infrastructure. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Tasks and responsibilities<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>independent research and scientific qualification within DECIDE\nwith the goal to acquire a doctoral degree,<\/li><li>involvement in third-party\nfunding proposals,<\/li><li>presentation of scientific results in publications and at\nconferences.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Required qualifications<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>master or\ndiploma degree in one of the following fields:<ul><li>business\nadministration,<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>cognitive\nscience,<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>computer\nscience,<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>economics\n(with a mathematical specialization),<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>information systems,<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>(technical) mathematics, <\/li><\/ul><ul><li>psychology,<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>electrical or computer engineering or <\/li><\/ul><ul><li>natural sciences (with a focus on economics),<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>good to very\ngood study results with regard to the respective field,<\/li><li>good to very good written and spoken English skills.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>All required qualifications are to be completed <strong>by 30<sup>th<\/sup> <\/strong><strong>September, 2019<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Desired qualifications<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>good knowledge in one or more of the following areas: <ul><li>simulation-based research methods (e.g., agent-based simulation,\nmulti-agent simulation, Monte-Carlo simulation),<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>modelling of economic systems,<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>decision-support and recommendation systems,<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>decision-theory,<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>machine learning \/ artificial intelligence,<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>energy informatics,<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>networked autonomous systems,<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>diffusion processes,<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>decision-making and judgment,<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>management control systems,<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>quantitative research methods,<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>uni- and multivariate data analysis methods,<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>dedication to interdisciplinary research,<\/li><li>social and communication skills and ability to work\nindependently,<\/li><li>basic experience in research projects,<\/li><li>subject-specific international, academic or practical experience.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The positions are\naimed at the scientific training of graduates of a diploma or master\u2019s programme\nwith the goal of completing a doctoral study in the relevant field. Applications\nfrom persons already holding such a degree can therefore not be taken into\naccount.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Alpen-Adria-Universit\u00e4t\nKlagenfurt seeks to increase the ratio of women in scientific positions and\ntherefore encourages qualified female candidates to apply.
